Thiền Sư Nhất Hạnh, a revered Vietnamese Zen Buddhist monk, teacher, and prolific author, was born in 1926 in central Vietnam and became one of the most influential spiritual leaders of the 20th and 21st centuries. Ordained as a monk at the age of 16, he founded the Plum Village Tradition, emphasizing mindfulness, compassion, and peace amid turmoil, including his active role in the Vietnam War peace movement that led to his exile in 1966. Settling in France, he established monasteries and retreat centers worldwide, authoring over 100 books that blend ancient Buddhist wisdom with accessible, modern insights to guide readers toward inner peace and ethical living. His teachings on engaged Buddhism have inspired millions, promoting harmony in daily life, environmental stewardship, and reconciliation. Thiền Sư Nhất Hạnh passed away in 2022, leaving a profound legacy of serenity and awakening. Notable works include 'Sự Tích Quan Âm Hương Tích' and 'Sự Tích Quan Âm Thị Kính,' which explore the timeless stories of compassion embodied by the bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara.
