About the Author

Thiahera Nurse is a poet whose work explores resilience, identity, transformation, and the imaginative power of language. Her writing brings emotional intensity and vivid insight to questions of survival, selfhood, and the forces that shape inner life. Nurse is the author of Some Girls Survive on Their Sorcery Alone: Poems (Drinking Gourd Chapbook Poetry Prize), a collection that suggests poetry can serve as both refuge and spellwork.
