Tameichi Hara (1900–1980) was a distinguished Imperial Japanese Navy officer who rose to the rank of captain during World War II, commanding the destroyer Shigure through some of the Pacific Theater's most intense engagements. Born in Tokyo, Hara graduated from the Imperial Japanese Naval Academy in 1921 and served with exceptional skill and strategic acumen, earning the moniker 'Lucky Hara' for his ship's remarkable survival rate amid harrowing battles.
