About the Author

The Sons of Confederate Veterans, a heritage organization dedicated to preserving the legacy of the Confederate States of America, channels its historical passion into literary endeavors that illuminate the valor and sacrifices of the Southern soldiers during the American Civil War. Founded in the late 19th century, the group has long championed the accurate recounting of Southern history, countering what they view as biased narratives from the victors. Through publications like The Gray Book, they offer meticulously researched accounts, personal anecdotes, and archival insights that honor the Confederate cause while fostering education and remembrance among descendants and enthusiasts alike. Their work serves as a vital resource for understanding the complexities of the War Between the States, emphasizing themes of duty, resilience, and cultural identity in the face of adversity.
