Shaykh 'Izz Al-Din Ibn 'Abd Al-Salam, revered as the Sultan of the Scholars, was a 13th-century Islamic jurist, theologian, and ascetic whose profound contributions to Islamic thought continue to illuminate the path of faith and ethics. Born in Damascus in 577 AH (1181 CE), he mastered the Maliki school of jurisprudence before embracing Shafi'i fiqh, serving as a qadi in Damascus and Jerusalem, and later teaching in Egypt where he influenced generations at the prestigious Al-Azhar.
