About the Author
Shahid Amin is a distinguished historian whose scholarship illuminates the intersections of memory, narrative, and political events in modern South Asia. His groundbreaking study of the Chauri Chaura incident demonstrates how a single moment of collective action reverberates through decades of historiography and popular remembrance. Amin’s work consistently foregrounds the voices of ordinary participants while interrogating the metaphors through which history is constructed and contested.
