Serge Klarsfeld

About the Author

Serge Klarsfeld is a renowned French historian, activist, and Nazi hunter whose life has been dedicated to uncovering the truths of the Holocaust and seeking justice for its victims. Born in 1935 in Bucharest to Jewish parents, he survived the war in hiding and later pursued studies in history and law, channeling his expertise into the pursuit of war criminals. Alongside his wife, Beate Klarsfeld, he co-founded the Sons and Daughters of Jewish Deportees, tirelessly tracking down figures like Klaus Barbie and Maurice Papon, and advocating for the recognition of French collaboration in the deportation of Jews. Their collaborative efforts, documented in his memoir 'Hunting the Truth: Memoirs of Beate and Serge Klarsfeld,' have profoundly influenced historical accountability and human rights discourse worldwide.
