Sainte Thérèse de l'Enfant Jésus, born Marie Françoise-Thérèse Martin in 1873 in Alençon, France, was a Carmelite nun whose profound spirituality and simple devotion to God earned her the title 'The Little Flower.' Entering the convent at the tender age of fifteen, she lived a cloistered life marked by extraordinary humility, childlike trust, and a 'Little Way' of spiritual childhood that emphasized small acts of love performed with great fervor. Canonized in 1925 by Pope Pius XI, she became one of the youngest saints in the Church's history and a Doctor of the Church in 1997. Her autobiography, Histoire d'une Âme, dictated on her deathbed in 1897, reveals the intimate depths of her soul, offering timeless insights into faith, suffering, and divine intimacy that continue to inspire millions worldwide.
