Robert Boyle (1627-1691), often hailed as the father of modern chemistry, was an Anglo-Irish philosopher, chemist, and theologian whose groundbreaking experiments and writings laid the foundations for the scientific revolution. Born into a wealthy family, Boyle received an elite education that sparked his lifelong curiosity about the natural world, leading him to pioneer the use of the scientific method in chemical investigations. His seminal work, 'The Origine of Formes and Qualities: According to the Corpuscular Philosophy' (1666), articulated the corpuscular theory, positing that all matter consists of tiny particles whose arrangements explain physical properties, challenging Aristotelian notions and advancing mechanistic views of the universe.
