Raimon Panikkar

About the Author

Raimon Panikkar (1918-2010) was a profound and multifaceted thinker, born in Barcelona to an Indian Hindu father and a Spanish Catholic mother, whose life bridged Eastern and Western spiritual traditions. Ordained as a Roman Catholic priest, he pursued advanced studies in philosophy, theology, and Indology, eventually becoming a leading figure in interfaith dialogue and comparative religion. Panikkar's work sought to harmonize diverse cosmologies, emphasizing the unity of humanity through a cosmotheandric vision that integrates the divine, the human, and the cosmic. His writings, informed by decades of teaching at universities in India, the United States, and Europe, continue to inspire scholars and seekers alike in exploring the rhythms of existence beyond cultural divides.
