About the Author

P.J. Dragseth is a dedicated historian and author whose passion for America's pastime shines through in his meticulously researched explorations of baseball's lesser-known chapters. With a background in sports history and cultural studies, Dragseth brings to life the stories of overlooked figures and teams that shaped the game's evolution. His debut book, Baseball and the House of David: The Legendary Barnstorming Teams, 1915-1956, delves into the fascinating world of the House of David barnstormers, a bearded religious commune that captivated audiences with their skillful play and unique flair during the early 20th century. Through vivid storytelling and archival insights, Dragseth uncovers how these itinerant athletes bridged communities and challenged racial barriers in pre-integration baseball. A lifelong fan and scholar, he continues to unearth narratives that celebrate the sport's diverse heritage.
