Ouyang Xun (557-641), a towering figure of the Tang Dynasty, was a renowned scholar, calligrapher, and statesman whose contributions to Chinese literature and art remain influential. Born in Luoyang, he served in various imperial capacities, including as a historian and editor of the official dynastic records. Ouyang's mastery of calligraphy, particularly in the regular script style, earned him acclaim as one of the 'Four Great Calligraphers of the Tang.' His seminal work, 'Jiucheng Palace Li Quan Inscription (Classic of Calligraphy),' exemplifies his precision and elegance, capturing the grandeur of imperial monuments.
