About the Author

Nicole Chung is an acclaimed author and essayist whose work explores the intricacies of identity, family, and belonging in the Asian American experience. Born in Seattle to Korean immigrant parents and adopted by white parents in Oregon, Chung's writing draws deeply from her personal journey of transracial adoption and the search for her biological roots. Her debut memoir, All You Can Ever Know, became a national bestseller and was named one of the best books of the year by publications including The New York Times and NPR. A former managing editor of The Toast, Chung's essays have appeared in The Atlantic, The New York Times, and Time, where she serves as a contributing opinion writer. She holds an MFA from the University of Iowa and lives in Charlottesville, Virginia, with her family.
