Morihei Ueshiba
About the Author
Morihei Ueshiba (1883-1969) was a visionary Japanese martial artist and philosopher who founded Aikido, a harmonious defensive art that emphasizes blending with an opponent's energy rather than confronting it directly. Born in Tanabe, Wakayama Prefecture, Ueshiba trained extensively in various martial disciplines before synthesizing his profound spiritual insights, drawn from Shinto, Buddhism, and his own mystical experiences, into Aikido's core principles of peace, love, and reconciliation. Renowned as O-Sensei, the 'Great Teacher,' he established numerous dojos and trained generations of practitioners worldwide, promoting Aikido not merely as a fighting system but as a path to universal harmony and self-realization. His teachings continue to inspire martial artists, meditators, and seekers of inner peace globally.
