Mike Massimino is a former NASA astronaut, engineer, and professor whose extraordinary career took him from the streets of Brooklyn to the edge of space. Selected for NASA's astronaut program in 1996, he flew on two Space Shuttle missions, including the final Hubble Space Telescope servicing mission in 2009, where he became the first person to tweet from space. With a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from MIT, Massimino now teaches at Columbia University and shares his passion for exploration through writing and public speaking.
