After studying medicine in Barcelona and Valencia, he moved to Paris in 1807, where he immersed himself in chemistry under luminaries like Fourcroy and Vauquelin. Orfila became a professor at the University of Paris and dean of the Faculty of Medicine, revolutionizing the field with his groundbreaking experiments on poisons and their detection in the human body.
