Mary Anne Mohanraj is an acclaimed author, editor, and professor whose work explores the intersections of culture, identity, and human connection across diverse landscapes. Born in Sri Lanka and raised in Connecticut, she draws from her multicultural heritage to craft narratives that bridge Eastern and Western worlds, often infused with themes of migration, family, and resilience. As the founder of the literary magazine Strange Horizons and director of the Speculative Fiction Workshop at the University of Illinois, Mohanraj has championed underrepresented voices in speculative and literary fiction.
