Le Ly Hayslip is a Vietnamese-American author and peace activist whose poignant memoirs illuminate the human cost of war and the resilience of the human spirit. Born in a rural village in central Vietnam in 1949, she endured the ravages of the Vietnam War from childhood, experiencing displacement, loss, and survival amid conflict. After immigrating to the United States in 1969, Hayslip channeled her experiences into writing, becoming a voice for reconciliation between Vietnam and America.
