About the Author

Laura Jardine-Coom is a scholar and writer whose work bridges the intersections of indigenous knowledge, western science, and environmental politics. With a deep-rooted interest in Aotearoa/New Zealand's landscapes and cultures, she explores how human societies interact with the natural world, particularly through the lens of political ecology. Her research draws on fieldwork among Māori communities, examining the tensions and synergies between traditional ecological practices and modern scientific paradigms. Jardine-Coom's writing is informed by her academic background in anthropology and environmental studies, where she advocates for decolonizing approaches to sustainability. Through her insightful narratives, she challenges readers to reconsider the relationships between people, place, and power in an era of ecological crisis.
