Karen Ho is an acclaimed anthropologist and author whose work bridges the worlds of academia and high finance. With a PhD from the University of Michigan, she has dedicated her career to examining the cultural and social dynamics of elite institutions. Her groundbreaking book, Liquidated: An Ethnography of Wall Street (a John Hope Franklin Center Book), offers an insider's perspective on the volatile culture of investment banking, revealing how Wall Street's practices shape global economies and perpetuate inequality. Drawing from years of ethnographic fieldwork, Ho critiques the dehumanizing effects of financialization while advocating for more equitable systems.
