Johann Christian Bach, the youngest son of the illustrious Johann Sebastian Bach, emerged as a pivotal figure in the transition from Baroque to Classical music during the 18th century. Born in Leipzig in 1735, he received early training from his father before moving to Italy in his teens, where he immersed himself in opera and sacred music, adopting the vibrant Italian style that would define his oeuvre. Relocating to London in 1762, he became a celebrated composer, co-founding the Bach-Abel concerts and serving as music master to the British royal family. His compositions, blending melodic elegance with structural innovation, influenced contemporaries like Mozart and Haydn.
