With a PhD in mathematics and a passion for speculative fiction, she has contributed numerous poems to prestigious magazines like Asimov’s Science Fiction and Analog Science Fiction and Fact over the past decade. Her writing explores the intersections of human emotion, cosmic wonder, and the absurdities of existence, often infusing rigorous logic with playful lyricism. Randall's debut collection, The Heartbeat of the Universe: Poems from Asimov’s Science Fiction and Analog Science Fiction and Fact 2012–2022, compiles her most resonant pieces, capturing the pulse of futuristic narratives through verse. She resides in Colorado, where she teaches, writes, and curates quirky exhibits at her local library.
