About the Author
Jenny Xie is an acclaimed poet whose work delves into the intricacies of migration, cultural displacement, and the quiet intensities of urban life. Born in Hefei, China, and raised in New Jersey, she draws from her bicultural experiences to craft verses that navigate the tensions between belonging and alienation, memory and forgetting. Xie's poetry often explores the nuances of perception, language's limitations, and the subtle fractures in human connections. A recipient of the 2018 National Book Award for Poetry for her debut collection Eye Level: Poems, she has also been honored with fellowships from the Guggenheim Foundation and the MacArthur Foundation. Xie teaches creative writing at New York University, where she continues to inspire a new generation of writers with her precise, evocative language.
