Jean Hans Arp, a pioneering figure in Dada and Surrealism, was a multifaceted artist born in Strasbourg in 1886, whose innovative works blurred the boundaries between sculpture, poetry, and visual art. Renowned for his organic, biomorphic forms that evoked the subconscious and the natural world, Arp co-founded the Dada movement in Zurich during World War I, contributing collages, reliefs, and poems that challenged conventional aesthetics. His literary output, often infused with playful absurdity and linguistic experimentation, reflected his belief in art's spontaneous creation.
