Educated at Oxford University, he served as a fellow and tutor at various institutions, including Balliol College, before becoming Principal of St Edmund Hall. His commentary on the Epistles of Peter and Jude, part of the acclaimed Black's New Testament Commentaries series, exemplifies his expertise in early Christian literature, offering insightful analysis of authorship, context, and theological themes.
