Ibn-e Safi, the pen name of Asrar Narvi, was a prolific Pakistani author renowned for his contributions to Urdu literature, particularly in the realm of detective fiction. Born in 1928 in Allahabad, India, he later migrated to Pakistan, where he established himself as a master storyteller blending suspense, humor, and sharp social commentary. Safi's works often feature the iconic detective Colonel Faridi and his assistant Captain Hameed, who navigate intricate plots involving espionage, crime, and intrigue. His writing career spanned over two decades, producing more than 240 novels that captivated readers across South Asia and beyond. Despite his untimely death in 1983, Ibn-e Safi's legacy endures through his timeless tales of mystery and adventure, including the acclaimed 'The House of Fear,' which exemplifies his knack for building tension and delivering unexpected twists.
