His Holiness The Dalai Lama
About the Author
His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatso, is the spiritual leader of Tibetan Buddhism and a global advocate for peace, compassion, and non-violence. Born in 1935 in northeastern Tibet, he was recognized as the 14th Dalai Lama at the age of two and has since dedicated his life to preserving Tibetan culture and promoting universal responsibility. Exiled from Tibet since 1959 following the Chinese invasion, he established the Tibetan government-in-exile in India, from where he continues to inspire millions through teachings on mindfulness, ethics, and interfaith dialogue. A Nobel Peace Prize laureate in 1989, he emphasizes the importance of inner peace as the foundation for world harmony, drawing from ancient Buddhist wisdom to address contemporary challenges like environmental crises and human conflict. His writings, including profound commentaries on sacred texts, offer timeless guidance for cultivating wisdom and kindness in daily life.
