Geshe Rabten (1920-1986) was a revered Tibetan Buddhist scholar and teacher whose life bridged the ancient wisdom of his homeland with the modern West. Born in Kham, Tibet, he entered Sera Monastery at a young age, enduring rigorous studies in philosophy, logic, and meditation under the guidance of masters like Khri-bzang Rin-po-che. Fleeing the Chinese invasion in 1959, he arrived in Switzerland, where he co-founded the Tibetan Institute Tharpa Choeling and dedicated decades to translating and disseminating Buddhist teachings.
