Gautama Buddha
About the Author
Gautama Buddha, born Siddhartha Gautama around the 6th century BCE in the ancient kingdom of Kapilavastu, was a spiritual teacher and philosopher whose profound insights into the nature of suffering and enlightenment laid the foundation for Buddhism. Renouncing his royal life at the age of 29, he attained awakening under the Bodhi tree after years of asceticism and meditation, becoming the Buddha, or 'Enlightened One.' His teachings, delivered through discourses to disciples across ancient India, emphasized the Four Noble Truths, the Eightfold Path, and the impermanence of all things, guiding millions toward liberation from the cycle of rebirth. Though not a conventional author, his wisdom was preserved orally and later compiled into sacred texts, influencing global philosophy, ethics, and spirituality for over two millennia.
