About the Author

François Ansermet, Pierre Julius Magistretti, Kei Nagano, and Kunio Fujino are esteemed collaborators in the interdisciplinary field of neuroscience and psychoanalysis, bridging the gap between brain mechanisms and the enigmatic realm of the unconscious. Ansermet, a renowned Swiss psychoanalyst and professor emeritus at the University of Geneva, brings profound insights into psychic development, while Magistretti, a neuroscientist and director of the Brain Mind Institute at EPFL, elucidates the neurobiological underpinnings of mental processes. Joining them are Nagano and Fujino, Japanese experts whose contributions enrich the dialogue with Eastern perspectives on cognition and emotion. Together, they explore how neural plasticity shapes unconscious dynamics, offering groundbreaking perspectives on human experience in their seminal work, 脳と無意識―ニューロンと可塑性, which demystifies the interplay between mind and brain for both scholars and general readers.
