About the Author

Enrique Cirules, Blas de Otero, Juan Gelman, Ariel Dorfman, Ana Pizarro, Alfonso Chase, Roberto Branly, Mario Benedetti, Iverna Codina, Isaias Pena Gutierrez, Carlo Droguett, and Gilberto Valdes Gutierrez form a distinguished collective of Latin American literary voices, each contributing profoundly to the region's cultural and intellectual landscape. Spanning poetry, prose, and critical essays, their works explore themes of identity, exile, social justice, and human resilience amid political turmoil. This collaborative spirit is exemplified in their involvement with the iconic Revista Casa de las Américas, particularly issues 106 through 108 from 1978, dedicated to the XI World Festival of Youth and Students in Havana, Cuba, where their writings captured the era's revolutionary fervor and global solidarity. Together, they embody the vibrant tradition of Latin American literature, bridging personal narratives with broader socio-political commentaries that continue to inspire readers worldwide.
