Daniel Borzutzky is a Chilean-American poet, translator, and writer whose work fearlessly interrogates the intersections of language, violence, and displacement in contemporary society. Born in Pittsburgh to Chilean immigrant parents, Borzutzky's poetry often draws from the political upheavals of Latin America and the dehumanizing forces of neoliberalism in the United States, blending surreal imagery with stark social critique to expose the absurdities of power and migration. A recipient of the National Book Critics Circle Award and a Guggenheim Fellowship, he has taught creative writing at institutions across Chicago, where he resides, and his translations of Latin American poets further amplify marginalized voices.
