About the Author
Cynthia J. Ottchen is a witty wordsmith and former medical librarian whose fascination with literature and healthcare inspired her unique blend of humor and erudition. With a background in curating rare books and assisting physicians, she draws from Shakespeare's rich tapestry of language to craft works that illuminate the absurdities of modern medicine. Her debut book, Shakespeare's Insults for Doctors, reimagines the Bard's sharp-tongued barbs as timely retorts for beleaguered healthcare professionals, offering a delightful escape through Elizabethan wit. Ottchen's writing celebrates the intersection of timeless drama and contemporary life, reminding readers that even in the face of professional woes, a well-placed insult can heal the spirit. She resides in Boston, where she continues to explore the healing power of humor.
