Renowned for his mastery of the organ, Franck spent much of his career as the organist at the church of Sainte-Clotilde in Paris, where he composed many of his most celebrated works. His compositions, characterized by lush romantic harmonies and intricate structures, bridged the gap between Romanticism and Impressionism, inspiring generations of musicians including his students Gabriel Fauré and Vincent d'Indy.
