Cecil Odell Smith

About the Author

Cecil Odell Smith is a master storyteller whose narratives weave the threads of rural American life with a touch of the divine and the mechanical. Born and raised in the heart of the Tri-County region, Smith's writing draws deeply from his experiences as a telephone repairman, capturing the quiet heroism of everyday folks navigating isolation, community, and unexpected miracles. His debut novel, 'By Finger and By God - The Tri-County Telephone Man,' explores themes of connection—both literal and spiritual—in a world where lines can be crossed by human hands or higher powers. With a keen eye for the absurdities and profundities of small-town existence, Smith crafts tales that resonate with humor, heart, and a profound sense of place, inviting readers to reflect on the invisible networks that bind us all.
