Born in Arcachon, France, Salzedo studied at the Paris Conservatoire, where he excelled under the tutelage of masters like Alphonse Hasselmans. Immigrating to the United States in 1909, he became a founding member of the Trio de Lutèce and later established the Salzedo Harp Ensemble, promoting new techniques and compositions for the instrument.
