About the Author
Bárbara Boloix Gallardo is a historian whose research focuses on the political and dynastic transformations of medieval al-Andalus. Her scholarship examines the transition from the Taifa of Arjona to the Nasrid Kingdom of Granada, illuminating the origins of one of the last Muslim states in the Iberian Peninsula. Through meticulous archival work and nuanced analysis of Arabic sources, she reconstructs the networks of power, kinship, and legitimacy that shaped early Nasrid rule. Her writing bridges detailed historical narrative with broader questions of state formation and identity.
