About the Author

The American Library Association (ALA) is the oldest and largest library association in the world, founded in 1876 to promote library and information services and the profession of librarianship. Comprising a diverse network of librarians, educators, trustees, and supporters, the ALA advocates for access to information, literacy, and intellectual freedom. Through its extensive publications and guidelines, the ALA shapes best practices in library programming and education. Notable contributions include 'Empowering Learners: Guidelines for School Library Media Programs,' a seminal resource that outlines standards for fostering learning environments in school libraries, emphasizing collaboration, inquiry, and technology integration to empower students and educators alike.
