Allyson Shaw

About the Author

Allyson Shaw is a Scottish-American writer and storyteller whose work delves into the intersections of history, folklore, and personal heritage. Born in the United States to Scottish roots, she has long been fascinated by the untold stories of women in history, particularly those silenced by societal forces. Her debut book, 'Ashes and Stones: A Journey Through Scotland in Search of Women Hunted as Witches,' chronicles her immersive travels across Scotland, uncovering the lives and legacies of women accused of witchcraft during the 16th and 17th centuries. Through vivid prose and meticulous research, Shaw breathes life into these forgotten narratives, blending memoir, travelogue, and historical inquiry to explore themes of resilience, injustice, and cultural memory. A former educator and oral historian, she now lives in the Pacific Northwest, where she continues to write about the echoes of the past in the present.
