Ali Muhammad Shirazi Bab, revered as the founder of the Bábí Faith and a pivotal figure in the emergence of the Bahá'í tradition, was born in Shiraz, Persia, in 1819. A merchant by trade, he experienced a profound spiritual revelation in 1844, proclaiming himself the promised one of Islam and heralding the advent of a new divine dispensation. His teachings emphasized the unity of God, the oneness of humanity, and the progressive revelation of divine guidance through successive messengers. Despite facing intense persecution from religious and political authorities, the Báb's writings and pronouncements inspired a devoted following and laid the groundwork for the Bahá'í Faith. Exiled and eventually martyred in 1850, his legacy endures through his profound spiritual insights and calls for social reform, justice, and universal peace.
