Ahdaf Soueif is an acclaimed Egyptian-British author, translator, and activist whose literary works vividly capture the complexities of Arab identity, exile, and political upheaval in the modern Middle East. Born in Cairo in 1950, she grew up in a family of intellectuals and pursued studies in linguistics at the University of Alexandria before earning a PhD from the University of Lancaster.
